Georgian Parliament Approves New Cabinet with Key Ministerial Changes

The Georgian parliament on Thursday approved the composition of the country’s new Cabinet, led by incumbent Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, following the recent parliamentary elections. The vote took place during a plenary session in Tbilisi, boycotted by the opposition, with 84 lawmakers backing the government lineup.

Most ministers retained their positions, but notable changes included Maka Bochorishvili as foreign minister, Anri Okhanashvili as justice minister, and Davit Songulashvili as agriculture minister. Kobakhidze has been in office since February, succeeding former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who resigned in January after nearly three years in the role.

The approved Cabinet reflects stability in governance despite opposition protests, with the new appointments expected to address pressing domestic and international challenges.
