Gaza Reconstruction Estimated at $67 Billion: Palestinian PM

The reconstruction of the Gaza Strip will require an estimated 67 billion US dollars, according to international assessments, to finance projects and programs covering various sectors, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said Thursday, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Speaking at a meeting attended by around 100 participants, including representatives of international and UN institutions, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Palestine, and several ministers, Mustafa said the plan would be implemented in cooperation with international partners.
According to WAFA, the Prime Minister emphasized that the reconstruction process must be led by Palestinians, with Arab and international support, to ensure that it is sustainable and forward-looking.
Over the past two years, the Zionist occupation forces have waged a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 238,000 dead and injured, the majority women and children, and leaving over 11,000 missing.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced, while famine conditions have caused numerous deaths, especially among children, amid massive destruction that has wiped out most cities and towns across the territory.
