Gaza on the Brink of Mass Starvation as Zionist Military Escalation Devastates Civilians

ALGIERS – The escalating famine in Gaza has reached “catastrophic” levels amid the total and illegal blockade imposed by the Zionist entity for more than 60 days on the Palestinian enclave, where military operations have been expanded to occupy the besieged territory.
Since March 2, more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza have been surviving without humanitarian aid: no food, no water, no medicine, and no fuel to run the generators essential for the proper functioning of hospitals.
Food supplies have nearly run out while prices have soared by over 500% since October 2023, worsening malnutrition, especially among the most vulnerable—children, pregnant women, the ill, and the elderly. Dozens of deaths have been reported from malnutrition or inadequate medical care.
The Deputy Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) has condemned the situation in Gaza as “an abomination,” expressing outrage at the failure to provide assistance to a population suffering from what he described as a barbaric genocide.
