Gaza: Four New Deaths from Starvation

Over the past 24 hours, hospitals across the Gaza Strip have reported four new deaths due to hunger and malnutrition, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, which cites medical sources from Palestine. Among the deceased are two children, bringing the total number of victims of hunger and malnutrition in the Palestinian enclave to 201, including 98 children.
The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to escalate amid a prolonged blockade that has persisted for several months, resulting in severe shortages of food and medical supplies. This dire famine situation intersects with a genocidal campaign conducted by the Zionist occupying forces since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, the occupation has closed all border crossings with Gaza, barring most food and medical aid from entering the territory, which has exacerbated the famine conditions.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued warnings that malnutrition rates among children under five could double between March and June as a result of the ongoing Zionist siege.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has indicated that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, leading to numerous fatalities, with nearly one in five Palestinian children under five suffering from severe malnutrition.
