The CEO of Sonatrach, Rashid Hashishi, held talks with a high-level Libyan delegation led by the Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, on the sidelines of the Gastech energy conference in Houston, USA, according to a statement from the company.
The meeting focused on the existing cooperation under the amended memorandum of understanding signed between Sonatrach and the Libyan National Oil Corporation. This agreement aims to resume the Algerian activities to fulfil contractual commitments and begin developing the discovered oil and gas fields in partnership with Libya.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation to achieve their shared strategic goals in this vital sector, as stated in the announcement.
Additionally, the Sonatrach CEO and his accompanying delegation visited Honeywell’s headquarters in Houston, a company specialising in energy services and control systems.
During this visit, Honeywell representatives showcased the latest technologies developed by the company, including methane emission detection and digital solutions for boosting facility efficiency, as well as remote control and automation systems.
The delegation also toured Honeywell’s innovation centre, where they were introduced to the latest technological advancements related to reducing the carbon footprint in the energy industry, the same source added.
