French NGOs Urge France to Demand Immediate Humanitarian Aid Access to Gaza

The French Platform of NGOs for Palestine has called on the French government to press the Zionist entity to “immediately restore” the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the coalition of French NGOs emphasized that “France must urge [the Zionist entity] to immediately allow unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Gaza, in accordance with its obligations under international humanitarian law.”

The statement highlights that by blocking aid, the Zionist entity endangers the lives of two million Palestinians who are entirely dependent on humanitarian relief for survival. The coalition also cited the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their Additional Protocols, which mandate that parties to a conflict must permit and facilitate the rapid and unimpeded passage of humanitarian assistance to civilians in need.

Additionally, the coalition referenced the January 26, 2024 ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered the Zionist entity to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza as part of the genocide case filed by South Africa. The International Criminal Court (ICC) later issued arrest warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, holding them criminally responsible for using starvation as a method of warfare.

Since imposing a total blockade on Gaza after October 7, 2023, the Zionist entity had only allowed limited humanitarian aid to enter until the ceasefire agreement in January 2025. By late 2024, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) placed Gaza in Phase 4—indicating an emergency level requiring urgent measures to prevent widespread famine.

A recent United Nations damage assessment revealed that over 60% of homes (approximately 292,000) and 65% of roads in Gaza had been destroyed. Furthermore, 95% of hospitals were no longer operational, and 70% of agricultural fields had been wiped out. After 15 months of relentless bombings, Gaza now faces the monumental task of rebuilding from the devastation.
