French MP Criticizes Government for Hosting Controversial Match Amid Gaza Crisis

Despite calls for cancellation, the French government has insisted on holding Thursday’s contentious match at the Stade de France between the French and Zionist entity national teams, with French President Emmanuel Macron planning to attend. In response, David Guiraud, a left-wing MP from the “La France Insoumise” party, condemned the match, calling it “neither natural, ethical, nor reasonable” to warmly welcome the Zionist entity while a “genocide” unfolds in Gaza.
Guiraud accused the French government of “complicity” in the ongoing violence in Gaza and criticized Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau for his silence regarding the recent mistreatment of two French gendarmes by Zionist entity police in Jerusalem during the French foreign minister’s visit.
Addressing President Macron and Prime Minister Michel Barnier, Guiraud urged them not to forget Gaza. “While you applaud the team representing a state committing genocide, remember there’s no longer a football field in Gaza,” he said, referencing the destruction there. “In Palestine, as in Lebanon, airstrikes target and kill innocents.”
President Macron’s attendance at the match is reportedly intended as a “gesture of friendship and solidarity” following clashes in Amsterdam surrounding a recent Europa League match between Ajax and the Zionist entity’s football club.
