Francesca Albanese Urges Suspension of Relations with Zionist Entity

The UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, has called for the suspension of relations with the Zionist entity and urged the immediate provision of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which has endured brutal Zionist aggression over the past two years.

In a post on her official social media accounts on Wednesday, Albanese stated that the Zionist occupier has no legal authority to prevent humanitarian organizations and aid workers from entering the Gaza Strip or the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The occupation is illegal and must end fully and unconditionally, as reaffirmed by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2024, she emphasized.

In this regard, Albanese noted that the Zionist entity continues to restrict UN and international NGO aid workers, particularly those considered “too candid” about the realities they witness on the ground.

She further stressed that humanitarian workers are duty-bound to bear witness to violations of international law.

Albanese’s remarks come amid calls from nine European countries, alongside Canada and Japan, urging the Zionist occupier to fully reopen border crossings and ease restrictions on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

A joint statement from these countries called on the Zionist entity to fully facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza and the West Bank, in accordance with international humanitarian law.
