Football: Morata Hospitalized Due to Head Trauma (AC Milan)

Spanish forward Álvaro Morata of AC Milan has been hospitalized following a “significant head trauma” sustained during a training session, the club announced on Thursday.
“During Thursday morning’s training session, Morata suffered substantial head trauma as a result of a collision during a confrontation,” the AC Milan statement explained.
“He was swiftly transported to the hospital, where an MRI returned negative results. Alvaro is feeling better but will remain under observation at the hospital, as per protocol in similar cases,” added the Lombardy club.
According to Italian media, the captain of the 2024 European champions was injured following a clash with Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic. His participation in Saturday’s match against Cagliari in the 12th round of the Italian Championship appears unlikely.
Since returning to Serie A this summer from Atletico Madrid, the 32-year-old Morata has scored three goals in twelve matches across all competitions, including one on Tuesday during Milan’s victory over Real Madrid (3-1) in the Champions League.
AC Milan currently sits seventh in the Italian Championship, eight points behind leaders Napoli, having played one match less.
