Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo has extended his contract with FC Barcelona for an additional six years, which will now run until June 30, 2031, as announced by the Catalan club in a statement on Thursday.
The 25-year-old central defender joined Barça in 2018 from the Uruguayan club Boston River. He made his first-team debut in October 2019 and established himself as a key player starting in the 2020/2021 season.
According to the official club statistics, the Uruguayan international has played 155 matches for the first team, during which he has scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists.
