ExxonMobil Reaffirms Dedication to Long-Term Investment in Algeria

The CEO of the Algerian oil company Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, held discussions with a high-level delegation from the American company ExxonMobil during the global energy conference “Gastech” in Houston, United States, as announced in a press release from the public group on Friday.
As part of the Gastech conference agenda, Hachichi visited ExxonMobil’s headquarters in Houston on Thursday, where he met with a delegation led by John Ardil, Vice President for Exploration and New Opportunities.
This meeting included a tour of the operational innovation center, which specializes in greenhouse gas detection, as well as the laboratories dedicated to analyzing drilling samples, according to the statement.
During their discussions, ExxonMobil representatives provided the Sonatrach delegation with an overview focused on developing reserves in both America and Argentina, as reported by the same source.
Following this briefing, a working meeting of the joint steering committee convened to oversee the implementation of the objectives outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed in May 2024.
The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss a mutually beneficial development plan for the reserves, aimed at enhancing energy resources while prioritizing operational excellence, technological innovation, environmental stewardship, and adherence to best practices in sustainability, the source concluded.
