Explosives Found at Moldova’s Airport Traced to Shipment from Ukraine

Authorities in Moldova have confirmed that explosives discovered at Chisinau International Airport on Tuesday were shipped from Ukraine, with their intended destination being Tbilisi, Georgia, according to reports by the Primul in Moldova TV channel citing police sources.

The explosive device was detected during mail processing at the airport and promptly defused without causing any injuries. Local police have not yet disclosed further details about the sender or the circumstances surrounding the shipment.

The incident has heightened concerns about regional security, as Moldova continues to face challenges related to smuggling and cross-border threats amidst the ongoing conflict in neighboring Ukraine. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origins and purpose of the shipment.
