European Powers Condemn Zionist Weaponization of Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

Three European countries—Spain, Belgium, and Ireland—have issued strong condemnations of the zionist entity for using humanitarian aid as a weapon in its ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.

During a United Nations Security Council debate on the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, Spain’s permanent representative Héctor Gómez Hernández said “Israel”’s renewed military operations in Gaza and the West Bank have worsened an already dire humanitarian crisis. He noted that humanitarian workers and facilities have become targets, labeling “Israel”’s actions a “blatant violation” of international humanitarian law and a breach of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

Belgium’s representative, Sophie De Smedt, emphasized the need to end violations of international law, declaring that aid “must not be weaponized.” She called for an immediate lifting of the blockade on Gaza and reaffirmed the importance of impartiality, neutrality, independence, and humanity in the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Ireland’s UN envoy, Fergal Mythen, said that events in Gaza and the West Bank demonstrate a “complete disregard” for international law and the authority of the United Nations. He warned that “Israel”’s continued refusal to allow aid into Gaza is deepening the hunger crisis and condemned the renewed airstrikes and ground assaults for exacerbating the suffering of Palestinians and violating the ceasefire.

The zionist entity resumed its military operations in March, abandoning the January ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal with Hamas. Since March 2, it has completely blocked aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip, leaving its 2.3 million residents in critical need.
