EU Commissioner Slams Killings of Health Workers, Journalists in Lebanon as ‘Unacceptable’

European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib on Monday condemned the killing of health workers and journalists in Lebanon amid Zionist strikes, describing the incidents as “unacceptable.”

In a post on X, Lahbib said that 10 health workers and three journalists had been killed in the past 48 hours, calling for respect for international humanitarian law and stressing that “a political solution is long overdue.”

The escalation comes as the Zionist entity continues airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2. The region has remained on high alert since US and Zionist strikes on Iran on February 28, which have killed more than 1,340 people, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
