Egypt Reaffirms Rejection of Gaza Governance Proposals

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of ongoing proposals concerning governance in Gaza, deeming them “unacceptable.”
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the Egyptian diplomatic spokesperson, emphasized this stance in a statement to the Palestinian news agency Wafa on Wednesday. He asserted that any proposal or idea that undermines the fundamental principles of Egyptian and Arab positions—particularly those addressing the core issues of the conflict, such as the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Palestinian territories and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state—is “rejected and unacceptable.”
The diplomat further stressed that these proposals represent mere “partial solutions” that contribute to the continuation of conflict cycles instead of providing a lasting resolution.
Khallaf also underscored the intrinsic connection between the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, asserting that these territories are integral to the Palestinian lands intended for a fully sovereign and independently managed Palestinian state.
