Drone Attacks Damage Three Oil Fields in Northern Iraq, No Casualties Reported

ERBIL (Iraq) – (APS) – Three oil fields in the autonomous Kurdistan region of northern Iraq were struck by explosive-laden drones on Wednesday morning, Kurdish forces reported, a day after a similar attack had disrupted operations at another oil site.
“At 6:00 and 6:15 a.m. (03:00 and 03:15 GMT), two explosive-laden drones targeted the Pechkabir oil field, operated by the Norwegian oil company DNO, and at 7:00 a.m. (04:00 GMT), a similar drone struck the Tawke field in the Zakho district,” said the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service.
Another attack at 7:14 a.m. (04:14 GMT) targeted a U.S.-operated oil field in Duhok province. No casualties were reported in any of the incidents.
Wednesday’s attacks followed a drone strike the previous day on the Sarsang oil field in Duhok, operated by the American company HKN Energy, which forced a suspension of operations.
On Monday, a drone was shot down near Erbil airport, while two others struck the Khourmala oil field in the same province, causing material damage.
