Democrats Prioritized Politics Over National Security in Middle East, Ignoring Iran’s Acts, Says John Ratcliffe

John Ratcliffe, President Trump’s pick for CIA Director, expressed concerns over the Democrats’ handling of national security issues, particularly in the Middle East. In a recent statement, Ratcliffe highlighted how the Democrats’ political agenda took precedence over the security of the United States, which, he argued, allowed critical issues, such as “Iran’s aggressive actions”, to go unaddressed.
Ratcliffe specifically pointed to “Iran’s hostile actions”, including the firing of ballistic missiles at U.S. warships by Houthi, as clear acts of war that were met with no significant consequences. He suggested that the lack of response to these attacks illustrated the extent to which political considerations were prioritized over protecting U.S. interests abroad.
