Cosob Grants License to Algeria’s First Crowdfunding Company

ALGIERS – The Commission for the Organization and Supervision of Stock Market Operations (Cosob) announced on Thursday the granting of a definitive license to “Yinvesti,” recognizing it as an investment advisory firm for participatory financing, making it the first officially approved crowdfunding platform in Algeria.
“This license was granted after the company fulfilled all the necessary technical requirements, in accordance with the provisions of Commission Regulation No. 23-01 dated April 12, 2023, which sets the conditions for licensing, operations, and oversight of participatory investment advisors,” the regulatory authority stated in a press release.
Crowdfunding platforms provide an alternative source of financing tailored to startups, micro-enterprises, and entrepreneurs with innovative projects. These platforms enable fundraising from the public via digital platforms, helping to strengthen and optimize the ecosystem for emerging businesses.
