Computer Outage Disrupts Dutch Airport and Public Services

A computer outage in the Netherlands has caused significant disruptions, impacting Eindhoven Airport and several public services. The outage grounded flights at Eindhoven, which serves 30 international destinations, and there is currently no estimated time for resolution. Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, a major European hub, appears unaffected.
The outage has also impacted public services : the coastguard is unreachable by telephone or radio, urging people to use the 112 emergency number in case of emergencies. The military police’s contact center is also down, and appointments for Covid vaccinations cannot be made.
This incident follows a recent global IT crash caused by an antivirus update, which previously disrupted airlines, banks, and media worldwide.
