Colombia Declares Health Emergency Amid Yellow Fever Outbreak

Colombia has declared a national health emergency following a rise in yellow fever cases, the government announced late Wednesday.

Health Minister Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo reported 74 confirmed infections and 34 deaths since the beginning of 2024. Yellow fever is a viral disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes and can be fatal without timely treatment.
