Cholera Outbreak in Mozambique Hits Nearly 5,000 Cases

Health authorities in Mozambique have recorded a surge in cholera cases, totaling approximately 5,000 cases across the country, local media reported on Tuesday.

The northern province of Nampula has recorded the highest burden, with 1,930 cases and 23 deaths, followed by Tete province in the center, which reported 1,755 cases and 28 deaths.

The overall fatality rate has reached 1.4%, with 62 deaths recorded since the start of the outbreak. To date, 2,484 patients have been hospitalized, while 2,056 others received treatment at outpatient clinics.
