China’s Jereh Affirms Readiness to Expand Oil Investments in Algeria
ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received on Monday the Vice President of the Chinese company “Jereh” for oil and gas engineering, Jason Zhen Liu, along with his accompanying delegation.
This meeting, which took place in the presence of senior ministry officials, provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation, investment, and partnership relations in the field of oil and gas engineering and manufacturing in Algeria, particularly with the Sonatrach Group, the Algerian Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
The two parties discussed the current state of cooperation between the Chinese company and Sonatrach. They also reviewed current projects implemented by Jereh in Algeria, covering engineering, supply, construction, field development, and the enhancement of natural gas processing and compression capacities, the statement said, adding that these efforts “aim to improve production efficiency and expand processing capabilities.”
In this context, Arkab emphasized the importance of cooperation with Jereh, given its technical capabilities and advanced technologies in the field of hydrocarbon exploitation and processing. He called on the company to strengthen its presence in Algeria and expand its investments by intensifying exchanges with the Sonatrach Group and participating in upcoming international tenders for hydrocarbon exploration and development projects.
On his part, Zhen Liu expressed the great interest that Jereh places on strengthening its presence in the Algerian market and contributing to the development of the oil and gas industry by relying on the latest technologies. He affirmed the company’s readiness to expand its investments within the framework of the excellent relations between the two countries, particularly in the hydrocarbons sector.
