China Reaffirms Commitment to UN-Centered Global Governance

China has reiterated its commitment to “true multilateralism” and the central role of the United Nations, pledging to promote global governance based on broad consultation, collective contribution, and mutual benefit, Xinhua News reported.
Speaking at an international symposium in Beijing on Monday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the need for global unity to uphold fairness, justice, and stability. He stressed that cooperation among nations is essential for maintaining peace and fostering worldwide development. The event, themed “Strengthen the Role of the United Nations and Promote Multilateralism,” was hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Wang called for efforts to build a more just and equitable global governance system, stating that collaboration is key to stabilizing a turbulent world. The symposium gathered over 100 participants, including representatives from 50 countries, international organizations, and the UN, alongside scholars and policymakers.
