China Calls for a Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference in Beijing on the sidelines of the annual parliamentary session, Wang emphasized that Gaza is Palestinian land and an integral part of Palestine. He affirmed that changing Gaza’s status by force will not bring peace, but will lead to further chaos.

Wang added that if the major powers genuinely care about the people of Gaza, they must promote a full and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and increase humanitarian aid. He urged the international community to focus on the two-state solution.

Wang also called for efforts to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, enhance humanitarian aid, and commit to the principle of “Palestine for Palestinians,” as well as contribute to Gaza’s reconstruction.

In closing, the Chinese foreign minister reiterated China’s commitment to helping Middle Eastern countries have more control over their future and destiny.
