Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army: Algeria is working to develop networks to build a shared destiny based on solidarity and respect for states’ sovereignty

ALGIERS – Algerian Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army received on Tuesday the Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Shugayev, as part of military cooperation activities.

During this meeting, which was attended by Major Generals and Generals of the People’s National Army Staff and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as members of the Russian delegation, both parties reviewed the state of military cooperation between the two countries and exchanged analyses and viewpoints on issues of mutual interest, the Algerian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

“It is my pleasure to welcome you and the accompanying delegation to the headquarters of the People’s National Army on the occasion of this visit, which marks another milestone in the process of strengthening the historic relations between our two countries in general, and between our two military institutions in particular,” Army General Saïd Chanegriha said.

“Indeed, the recent high-level visits have enabled the activation of a renewed dynamic in the field of military cooperation, allowing for the expansion of the horizons of bilateral partnership,” he added.

Moreover, he pointed out that Algeria seeks to build multiple and diverse partnerships with friendly countries and is working to develop networks of relationships that combine the pursuit of dialogue-based solutions with the promotion of sustainable development imperatives.

“In this complex global geopolitical and turbulent regional context, Algeria, within the framework of its foreign policy principles—based on full respect for international law and a determined pursuit of resolving conflicts through peaceful means—seeks to build multiple and diverse partnerships with friendly countries. It works on developing networks of relationships that combine the search for dialogue-based solutions with the promotion of sustainable development imperatives, all aimed at building a shared collective destiny founded on solidarity and respect for the sovereignty of states.”
