Cameroon: Two Soldiers Killed in Terrorist Attack in the Far North

Two Cameroonian soldiers lost their lives and three others sustained injuries on Tuesday due to the explosion of an anti-personnel mine in Kerawa, located in the Far North region, according to local security sources.
The incident occurred when a vehicle belonging to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) triggered a landmine during a routine patrol in the Mayo-Sava department, near the Nigerian border.
Established in 2015, this multinational force consists of military personnel from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Benin, with the mission of combating the terrorist group Boko Haram.
Since 2014, the Far North region of Cameroon has experienced recurrent attacks by Boko Haram, which also targets areas along the Nigerian border.
