At least five members of the armed group Boko Haram were killed by the Cameroonian army following an attack on a military camp in the Far North region of Cameroon on Thursday, according to security sources.

The Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) post in Bargaram was attacked overnight from Wednesday to Thursday. The assault reportedly took place around 2:00 a.m. and was carried out by heavily armed individuals, the same sources said.

BIR forces responded to the attack, killing five members of the group. One Cameroonian soldier was killed during the exchange of fire, according to the sources. Military personnel also seized weapons during the operation.
