Call to use UN Charter instruments to end Zionist occupation’s crimes against Palestinians

NEW YORK (United Nations) – Algeria denounced, Wednesday, in New York, through the voice of its Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Toufik Laïd Koudri, the silence of the international community in the face of violations committed by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, calling for the use of instruments provided by the United Nations Charter to end these crimes.

In his speech delivered at a Security Council meeting on “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question,” Koudri underscored that the silence of the international community “speaks the language of crime.”

“Even if this silence hides behind diplomacy, it remains witness to a crime that History will remember, not as impartiality, but as betrayal,” calling against merely condemning and lamenting, because “it is our duty now to act and use the instruments provided by the United Nations Charter in order to put an end to these crimes which are no longer a secret to anyone.”

The Algerian diplomat mentioned the disastrous situation of Gaza following the Zionist aggression, stating that “death is the only reality in the strip, where the occupation forces strive to commit all kinds of crime and assassination against Palestinians, driven by the illusion nourished by arrogance and megalomania of emptying Palestine of its inhabitants.”

“To those who seek to rewrite History, we say that ending the occupation and recognizing the Palestinians’ natural and undeniable right to their land is a historical certainty, and those who attempt to halt the course of history will meet the same fate as their predecessors,” he said.

“The Security Council knows an accumulation of sessions and a succession of communiqués, but neither deters the occupier nor stops the genocide,” noted the Algerian diplomat.

“Our numerous meetings reflect the concern of the international community about what is happening, and reveal at the same time its inability to take the necessary decisions and to impose respect for its will when it comes to the Zionist occupant.”
