Cairo: Algerian Council of the Nation Participates in Meetings of Arab Parliament’s Permanent Committees

On Thursday, the Algerian Council of the Nation participated in Cairo, Egypt, in the meetings of the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament. These meetings are a preparatory step for the second session of the first meeting of the fourth legislature of the Arab Parliament (PA), as stated by the upper chamber of Parliament.
According to the statement, “Delegated by the President of Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil, member of the Council and First Vice-President of the Arab Parliament, Fouad Sebouta, along with another Council member and Arab Parliament representative, Abdelkrim Korichi, is attending the meetings of the permanent committees, which commenced on Thursday at the headquarters of the Arab League’s General Secretariat in Cairo.”
These discussions are aimed at “preparing for the work of the second session of the first meeting of the fourth legislature of the PA, scheduled for next Saturday,” the statement further noted.
The agenda for the committee meetings encompasses “examining developments in the Arab situation across its political, economic, social, legal, and cultural dimensions. It also includes reviewing draft guiding laws and visions that the Arab Parliament aims to develop to harmonize Arab legislations and propose suitable solutions to the various challenges facing the Arab world amid rapid international changes.”
The statement also highlighted that the Arab Parliament comprises four committees: The Committee on Foreign Affairs, Politics, and National Security; the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs; the Committee on Legislative, Legal Affairs, and Human Rights; and the Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural Affairs, Women, and Youth.
