CAF Abolishes 70-Year Age Limit for Presidential Candidacy

During its 46th ordinary general assembly, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the removal of the 70-year age limit for presidential candidates in its elections. Additionally, the organization decided to eliminate the language-based representation on FIFA’s Executive Committee.
CAF’s Executive Committee, led by President Patrice Motsepe, confirmed that the elections will take place on March 12, 2025, in Egypt.
During the extraordinary general assembly, three key positions will be filled: the CAF President, members of the CAF Executive Committee, and the African representatives on FIFA’s Executive Committee.
The CAF elections will be held at 10:00 AM Cairo time on March 12, 2025.
