Brazil Deploys 9,000 Soldiers to Secure G20 Summit

The Brazilian government has announced the deployment of nine thousand soldiers to provide security at the G20 Summit set to be held in Brazil.
According to a government statement, starting today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense will send 9,000 soldiers from the armed forces for the G20 Leaders Summit.
The 19th G20 Summit of Heads of State and Government will take place next week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18-19, under the theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” with participation from member states, as well as the African Union and the European Union.
Brazil has held the G20 presidency from December 1, 2023, and will continue to do so until November 30, 2024.
