
ALGIERS – President of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, received on Sunday in Algiers a delegation from the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council, led by the Commission’s President, Ibrahim Azizi, according to a statement issued by the lower house of Parliament.
At the start of the meeting, Boughali said that “Algeria and Iran maintain historical relations based on sincere fraternity and a strong will for close cooperation.”
He further stressed “the constant efforts of both countries to strengthen their relations of fraternity.”
“The exchange of visits between the two parliamentary institutions constitutes a valuable opportunity to discuss the overall state of bilateral relations,” he said.
Moreover, he emphasized “his determination to work seriously to promote these relations to a level that reflects the common political will of both countries, while expanding and promoting their economic cooperation to support shared potential and opportunities.”
On the economic front, Boughali mentioned “the incentives offered by the investment law to foreign operators, particularly as part of diversifying sources of wealth.”
He called, in this regard, for “increased cooperation in the field of startups,” while expressing “his interest in Iran’s experience and the diversity of its sectors.”
He also reiterated “Algeria’s sovereign positions based on the principles of non-interference in other countries’ affairs, respect for their sovereignty, the primacy of dialogue in resolving crises, and support for just causes around the world, while striving to alleviate the repercussions of conflicts on the stability of states and the tranquility of peoples.”
On this occasion, he discussed “the exceptional circumstances marking the regional and international context, particularly the Zionist aggressions and the heinous crimes committed in Gaza, their expansion to other cities, and in Lebanon.”
