Bitcoin Surges Past $122,000, Nearing All-Time High Amid Cryptocurrency Market Rally

NEW YORK – Bitcoin continued its upward momentum early Monday, breaking above $122,000 and approaching its all-time high. As of 0655 GMT, Bitcoin’s price stood at $122,321, later easing slightly to around $121,390 by 0925 GMT, marking a 2.6% increase compared to the previous day.

Data from analysis firm Coinmarketcap showed the overall global cryptocurrency market climbed about 2.2% in the last 24 hours, reaching a total valuation of $4.04 trillion. Bitcoin’s market capitalization rose by 2.55% during the same period to $2.41 trillion, supported by a daily trading volume of $77.6 billion—an increase of over 26.5%.

Since the beginning of the year, Bitcoin has gained nearly 30% in value. Meanwhile, Ethereum, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, also saw gains, rising about 1.3% to $4,273.
