Baker Hughes shows interest in expanding partnership with Sonelgaz

ALGIERS – The CEO of Sonelgaz, Mourad Adjal, met on Monday with the Enterprise Growth Market Director for Africa at Baker Hughes, Gianluca Ciricugno, aiming to explore ways to activate and expand cooperation between the two companies, according to a statement from Sonelgaz.

This meeting followed Adjal’s recent business trip to Florence, Italy, where he participated in the 25th annual meeting of Baker Hughes from February 2 to 4, 2025. During their discussions, Adjal emphasised the importance of advancing the partnership by swiftly establishing a joint task force between Sonelgaz, Sonatrach, and Baker Hughes. This team will focus on identifying key areas for expanding the collaboration among the three parties and developing a clear, actionable roadmap to move from planning to execution.

According to the statement, the partnership benefits from a solid foundation through “ALGESCO,” with all parties committed to expanding it in ways that support national integration policy, reduce import bills, and expand into the African market.

In turn, Ciricugno commended the high level of coordination displayed by Sonelgaz in fostering collaboration between the two companies, the source said, adding that he expressed strong interest in broadening the partnership across various industrial sectors and praised Sonelgaz’s significant expertise and experience in this field.
