ALGIERS – The Algerian minister of State, minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, received Wednesday in Algiers a delegation of the Axian group, led by its Chief Executive Officer Hassanein Hiridjee, with whom he discussed investment opportunities in Algeria, the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting was held at the ministry’s headquarters, “as part of the strengthening of cooperation with economic partners wanting to invest in Algeria in the field of energy, mainly renewable energy,” the statement said.
Arkab gave an outline on the energy transition in Algeria, stressing the significant progress in terms of the electricity production infrastructure and the national electricity coverage that has reached 99%, which show state’s commitment to ensure energy justice and promote basic services nationwide.”
