
Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf, commissioned by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, arrived Tuesday evening in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to take part in the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, to be held on February 11-12.
The ministerial meeting, held in preparation for the African Union Summit scheduled for 14-15 February 2026, will “discuss a range of issues related to the role and standing of joint African action in addressing the continent’s most pressing political, security, and development challenges,” according to the statement.
On the sidelines of the Executive Council’s proceedings, the Minister of State will hold bilateral talks with several of his counterparts, the foreign ministers of brotherly African states.
