AU Commission Commends Algeria’s Role in Promoting Continental Priorities

ADDIS ABABA (African Union) – The chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, on Tuesday welcomed the “essential” role of Algeria in the promotion of continental priorities, the Pan-African organization said in a statement.

Ali Youssouf received in Addis Ababa the credentials of Algeria’s new ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and permanent representative to the African Union, Mohamed Khaled.

He welcomed “Algeria’s unwavering commitment to the AU and its essential role in the promotion of continental priorities,” the statement said.

Ali Youssouf and Khaled reiterated their “shared desire to further strengthen their cooperation,” emphasizing “the acceleration of the implementation of Agenda 2063 for shared prosperity and integration in Africa.”
