At Least Six ISIS Terrorists Killed in Counterterrorism Operation in Turkey’s Yalova Province

At least six ISIS (Daesh) terrorists were killed during a counterterrorism operation in Turkey’s northwestern Yalova province, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Monday. The operation, carried out by Turkish security forces, also left three police officers dead after the terrorists opened fire, while eight police officers and one security guard were wounded.

The minister noted that the operation is part of ongoing efforts against ISIS, and highlighted that over the past month, 138 suspects have been arrested and 97 prosecuted in related operations. In a separate development, Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc announced that five suspects have been taken into custody and five public prosecutors assigned to lead investigations.
