At Least 50 Insurgents Killed, Seven Nigerian Officers Missing After Boko Haram Attack

At least 50 Boko Haram fighters were killed on Tuesday after an insurgent ambush on a convoy in northeastern Nigeria. The convoy, which was monitoring power grid installations, was targeted by the militant group, leaving seven members of Nigeria’s infrastructure security force missing.

Boko Haram, a terrorist group that has been waging an insurgency for 15 years, remains a significant threat despite being weakened by military efforts and internal conflicts. The group continues to carry out deadly attacks on civilians and government personnel.

Babawale Afolabi, spokesperson for Nigeria’s Civil Defence Corps, confirmed the attack and noted the ongoing risks to infrastructure security.
