At Least 45 Dead After Torrential Rains in Northern India

Reports from media outlets indicate that at least 45 people have lost their lives due to torrential rains and hailstorms sweeping across 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The *Times of India* highlighted that the heavy rainfall has brought about extensive damage to villages and agricultural infrastructure. Regional authorities have stepped up efforts to provide material assistance to those affected.
The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of continued heavy rainfall in northern and other regions of India until the end of this week.
In several districts of Maharashtra (western India), “red” and “orange” alerts have been issued due to severe rainfall and winds reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h.
