Army General Saïd Chanegriha receives Chief of Defence Staff of Indian Army

ALGIERS – Army General Saïd Chanegriha, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received on Sunday the Chief of Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, General Anil Chauhan, who is on a working visit to Algeria leading a high-level military delegation, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defence.

The two sides reviewed areas of bilateral military cooperation and discussed ways to enhance and strengthen security coordination on issues of mutual interest, said the statement.

Moreover, the meeting provided an opportunity to address the security challenges facing the world and to exchange views on various current issues, added the statement.

Army General Saïd Chanegriha emphasised that the recent official visit by the President of India to Algeria is a clear indication of the strong will of both countries’ leadership to revitalise bilateral relations and develop prospects for joint cooperation, the statement concluded.
