Arkab Participates in 56th JMMC Meeting

ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, takes part today, via videoconference, in the 56th meeting of the OPEC/non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), the ministry said in a press release.

During this meeting, the oil ministers will examine the implementation of production reduction commitments for July and August 2024, in accordance with the decisions adopted by OPEC+ countries as part of their joint efforts to stabilize the oil market, said the same source.

The discussions will also focus on recent developments in the international oil market as well as its short-term prospects, said the press release.

The JMMC, which meets every two months, brings together seven OPEC member countries, namely Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Nigeria and Venezuela, as well as two non-member countries, namely : Russia and Kazakhstan.
