Araghchi : Iran Not Seeking War With “Israel” but Ready for It

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Iran is not seeking a confrontation with “Israel” but is fully prepared for a large-scale war if initiated in the region. Speaking in Lisbon, Araghchi underscored Iran’s commitment to de-escalation while warning against provocations.
Araghchi also dismissed claims of Hezbollah’s weakening, asserting that the group’s resilience was a decisive factor in agreeing to a ceasefire. The ceasefire, mandates Zionist withdrawal from Lebanon within 60 days, while the Lebanese army assumes control of the south. Hezbollah forces are set to relocate north of the Litani River.
US President Joe Biden announced Washington’s involvement in securing the ceasefire and overseeing compliance through an international committee. The agreement also includes guarantees of US support for Zionist defensive actions and efforts.
