Arab Parliament: West Bank Decisions, Full-Fledged War Crime

Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, condemned on Monday the dangerous decisions adopted by the Zionist occupation that aim to impose a new colonial reality in the occupied West Bank, affirming that these decisions constitute a full-fledged war crime.

In a statement, Al-Yamahi noted that the occupation’s decisions “constitute a blatant escalation and flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions, representing a clear attempt to change the legal and historical status of the occupied Palestinian territories through settlement expansion, land seizure, and forced imposition of sovereignty, in open defiance of the international community’s will.” In this regard, he stressed that “the occupation entity has no sovereignty over any inch of Palestinian land” and that its approval of the seizure of West Bank territory constitutes an explicit declaration of committing a full-fledged war crime that warrants international accountability and prosecution without any double standards.

The Arab Parliament Speaker called on countries and international organizations, foremost among them the United Nations (UN) and the International Criminal Court (ICC), “to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and condemn these colonial decisions.” He also urged them to open “an urgent international criminal investigation into occupation leaders implicated in these crimes.” Al-Yamahi warned that these decisions “undermine regional security and stability and eliminate any prospect for peace,” adding that the Arab Parliament “will continue its political and parliamentary efforts regionally and internationally to defend Palestinian rights and reject attempts to legitimize the occupation or impose facts by force.”
