Arab Committee Joins Global Call for Release of Sahrawi Political Prisoners

The Arab Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People announced on Sunday its participation in the international campaign demanding the immediate release of Sahrawi political prisoners held in Moroccan prisons, with a particular focus on the Gdeim Izik group.
In a statement, the committee strongly condemned the decades-long oppression, torture, and arbitrary detention endured by the Sahrawi people. It criticized the silence of the international, Islamic, and Arab communities, saying they have failed to uphold the Sahrawis’ right to self-determination—an essential right already realized by other nations that have gained their independence and freedom.
The committee urged the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to act swiftly in enforcing international law to guarantee the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
