Arab Athletics Championships (U18): Algeria to Send 34 Athletes to Tunisia (Federation)

A total of thirty-four young athletes, comprising both boys and girls, will represent Algeria at the Arab Under-18 Championships, scheduled to take place from August 23 to 27 at the Radès Sports Complex in Tunis, according to a statement by the Algerian Athletics Federation.
Most of these athletes qualified during the Elite & Young Talents Sports Days held between the SATO of the July 5 Stadium and the athletics stadium in Souk El Tenine, located in Bejaïa province.
“In addition to the under-18 athletes, the national team’s roster includes three girls who are under 17 years old: Yasmine Bouallaga, Salsabil Bounemeur, and Fatma-Zohra Guessoum,” detailed the federation in a press release.
Middle-distance runner Bouallaga will compete in the 800 meters, while sprinter Bounemeur will participate in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Guessoum is set to compete in the 5000 meters race walk.
“Before departing for Tunis to compete in the Arab U18 Championships, the national team will hold a final training camp starting on August 19 at the National Elite Gathering Center in Seraïdi, situated in the neighboring Annaba province.”
This year marks the 11th edition of the Arab U18 Athletics Championships, and Algeria aims to secure a maximum number of medals across various categories.
