ALGIERS – The 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF-2025), scheduled from September 4 to 10 in Algiers, will see the launch of an “African Research and Innovation Centre,” a digital platform dedicated to encouraging research on intra-African trade, Afreximbank, the AU Commission and the AfCFTA Secretariat and organizers of the event announced on Wednesday.
This initiative aims to stimulate academic research and strengthen collaboration between universities, industry, and policy makers in Africa, with a view to accelerating industrialization and intra-African trade, according to a press release.
This centre will provide a platform for teachers, students, and researchers from Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora to present publications and innovative prototypes during the Algiers IATF 2025.
“IATF2025 is a major opportunity for research and innovation in Africa, bringing together the brightest minds to contribute to the promotion of intra-African trade and industrialization,” the Executive Vice President for Intra-African Trade and Export Development at Afreximbank, Kanayo Awani, emphasized in the press release.
