The 4th African Startup Conference is set to kick off on Saturday in Algiers, with over 25,000 participants expected at this key pan-African gathering for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Held under the theme “Fostering African Champions,” the three-day conference has become a key continental platform dedicated to building a competitive, sovereign, and inclusive technology ecosystem across Africa.
Organized by the Algerian Ministry of the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises in partnership with the public incubator Algeria Venture, the conference will bring together over 35 ministerial delegations, about 200 exhibitors from Africa and beyond, and more than 300 international experts.
The event will also host over 150 investors, project holders, incubators, African diaspora entrepreneurs, officials and representatives from international organizations, as well as key global players.
This year, Rwanda will be the guest of honour, in recognition of the country’s remarkable progress in innovation and Algeria’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the continent’s entrepreneurial leaders, according to Algeria Press Service (APS).
In addition to the ministerial summit, which will host over 35 official African delegations, the conference will showcase success stories of African champions who have built high-revenue companies making significant contributions to the real economy across the continent.
Numerous parallel activities are also scheduled, including specialized sessions on research, innovation, content creation, fintech, and artificial intelligence, along with an exhibition featuring the talents and achievements of young African innovators.
Through a series of conferences and workshops, participants will explore key topics including technological evolution, the state of telecommunications infrastructure, the digital sector’s environmental impact, and digital solutions for building climate resilience.
