Algeria’s Walid Sadi Elected to CAF Executive Committee

Algerian Football Federation (FAF) President Walid Sadi has been elected by acclamation to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt.

Sadi was the only eligible candidate for the North African region after Tunisian Hussein Jenayah withdrew from the race. As a result, CAF General Assembly members unanimously approved his election.

Alongside Sadi, other unopposed candidates who secured their seats include Tanzanian Wallace John Karia (East and Central Africa), Liberian Mustafa Raji (West Africa Zone A), Ghanaian Kurt Okraku (West Africa Zone B), and Bestine Kazadi from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (women’s representative seat).

Sadi’s election strengthens Algeria’s presence in African football’s decision-making body, reinforcing the country’s influence in the sport’s governance across the continent.
