According to the same source, this initiative aligns with “the guidelines of the high authorities to strengthen economic ties with African countries, particularly in West Africa.” In this context, Adjal reaffirmed the Sonelgaz Group’s commitment to expanding its activities in the region, highlighting the positive results achieved through its cooperation with Niger’s electricity company, Nigelec.

He noted that these successes encourage holding videoconference consultation meetings with officials from the energy sector and energy operators in Senegal and the three neighboring countries (Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, and Cape Verde) to explore cooperation opportunities with the Sonelgaz Group.

The same source also announced ongoing preparations to organize a working visit to Senegal, in collaboration with Algeria’s embassy, led by the CEO and accompanied by a delegation of Sonelgaz executives and officials from several public and private companies operating within the sector’s value chain.

For his part, Senegal’s Ambassador to Algeria commended Sonelgaz’s performance and achievements, particularly in Africa, emphasizing the importance of supporting the Group’s expansion into new markets. He stressed that this aligns with the vision of Algeria’s highest authorities to bolster the country’s economic presence on the continent, according to the source.
